This Little Light of Mine- I'm Gonna Let it Shine...

I have known that song since I was a little girl. It is one of those little childhood things that you just don't forget. But as we disappear into the fast-paced world of adulthood- with all of its worries and carpool and laundry- we tend to forget the important things in life. The fact that God put us here to "let our light shine before men..." so that we can reflect Christ and win souls for Him. For the past several years, I have felt like the light in me had gone out. Like my light was under a bushel or Satan had blown it out. Whichever the case, it was gone. And I was miserable. And my attitude and demeanor was not winning anyone for Christ. For over a year, I prayed daily for guidance- for God to reveal His will for my life. A few months ago, I felt like God was whispering to my heart to get out of the situation I was in and just trust Him. I have to admit, it kinda felt like jumping out of a plane without a parachute. But I did it. And my parachute opened. And for the first time in forever, I felt relief. And peace. And happy.

I have prayed alot about "what's next?". And my family and closest friends and my Sunday School class have been praying. And just recently, I have been asked by two different people to take pictures of their children. Photography has always been something that I love to do. I love taking pictures, looking at pictures, editing pictures... I do not believe things happen by chance or by coincidence. I know that everything happens for a reason- that God is working in every aspect of our lives. That He created each of us exactly the way He wants us to be- perfectly equipped to do what He wants us to do. We just have to be willing and ready. So, I am ready. I am gonna put myself out there, with God whispering in my ear to just relax and let Him take care of everything. Gonna just let my little light shine.

So let your light shine. And if you need a photographer to capture it, let me know.
